Functions and uses

You can use Pay&Share to create an event, such as a holiday, and invite the friends who will join by selecting them directly from the app’s list or from the contacts on your smartphone iOS, Android or Blackberry. From then onwards, via a cloud service, all the invited friends can create and display expenses related to the event they are taking part in by synchronising their devices. However, they will only be able to act directly on the expenses they have added because the administrator (i.e. the person who invited everybody) has full control of the event.

Pay&Share works offline: you only need a connection to share the expenses or for backup purposes, and you can synchronise manually or automatically. To ensure better control over your phone charges, a 3G network alert asks users if they wish to continue with synchronisation or annul the operation, in order to avoid roaming costs. Additionally, if you are no longer connected via Wi-Fi, you can limit the display of the notifications of automatic synchronisation. The app is multilingual (Italian and English), it supports unlimited foreign currencies with exchange rates and, thanks to the “time zone” function, it converts dates and days according to the position of the device used.

With Pay&Share you can create and manage an unlimited number of events and associate an unlimited number of expenses, which can be imported from other, previous events (the same applies to participants and currencies).
Through and intuitive and elegant interface for all operations, it could not be easier to insert expenses, adding who paid and on behalf of whom, in just one sheet and in a few seconds! The default setting is “New expense paid for all participants”, the most common case. 
In addition to expenses, you can insert simple money transfers from one person to another (such as loans or balance payments, which do not contribute to the total cost of the event). You can also establish a coefficient for each participant: e.g. girls could have a 0.5 coefficient so they always pay half ;-) If someone pays a sum that was previously agreed on, the app will take this into account and will not divide the total sum equally.
 

All expenses are automatically divided by Pay&Share, which in real time calculates personal balance sheets that can be displayed in the “person” sheet. You will be able to see your how much you owe and are owed immediately and clearly. The “Total Expenditure” entry, in the screen that describes the expense details of each individual, shows the total balance paid in advance by every person. If someone must pay the balance for another person, you can go to the profile of individual participants and select the option “to be paid by…”.
The total balance of expenses (showing how much each person owes or is in credit) can be seen from the “calculate balance” sheet. At the end of the holiday, a click is all it takes to send all participants a detailed report of the event via e-mail!
